It is always difficult to get our library books back before the end of the school year, so this year I put up a Pete the Cat themed reminder. The idea came from one of the many library memes I've collected on Pinterest. My cat loving students couldn't get enough of it!
I love this winter bulletin board! With wrapping paper as a background, I added a snowman, book and snowflake (enlarged page from a book). The inspiration came from this holiday card!
This November I took inspiration from a door decoration to remind my students to bring library books back on time.
Branch Out and Read Something New is my back to school board this year. I'm hoping it inspires my students to try something outside their "typical" selections. I am pairing the board with a library center for browsing read alikes. This idea came from Pinterest. I tweaked it with digital illustrations my kinders made using Kid Pix and Mo Willems' guide to drawing the pigeon. It is a BIG hit among students and teachers.
This was our hallway Read Across America bulletin board for 2015. I loved the saying: Reading is the THING to do and the idea of using Thing 1 and Thing 2, but my favorite part is the hair! These are blue boas from JoAnn Fabrics. Otherwise, it is just circles and stripes cut from bulletin board paper.
Who's ready to read?Giant KeyboardFor this I used black take out boxes, hot glued them to black bulletin board paper and added printed text boxes to the top. This is a great teaching tool especially for my little ones. It makes it very simple to show where keys are! I Pick Good Fit BooksMany of my teachers are doing the Daily 5 and wanted the LMC to support the vocabulary they are using when explaining how to select a book. Books: Before They Were MoviesI matched the movie poster with the book cover and made sure to include a call number label in the bottom left corner to make it easy to find.
